TimeQuest Has Ceased Operations

To our community,

After much thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to permanently shut down TimeQuest. The server will not be returning, and all operations have officially ended.

From the very beginning, our goal was to empower players and set a higher standard for what a Minecraft server should be. We wanted to prove that you don’t have to accept mediocrity from massive, profit-driven servers—servers that have every resource at their disposal yet still churn out half-baked content, riddled with paywalls and neglected updates.

What we built with TimeQuest was never about making money or cutting corners. It was about passion, creativity, and respect for the players. And the reality is, with nothing but a small, dedicated team, we were able to do what these other teams refused to: put in real effort. We designed working mechanics, listened to feedback, and made sure every aspect of the experience was something worth playing. And the most damning part? We did it in our spare time—while they, with all their funding and full-time developers, couldn’t even be bothered to try.

No player should ever accept being scammed, ignored, or forced to pay for content that should have been complete from the start. No one should tolerate lazy, uninspired game design just because it comes from a big name. Yet, these servers continue to thrive because people let them. If you're staffing or working for them, ask yourself—are you proud of what you're helping to build? If you're spending money on them, consider whether they’ve actually earned your support. The truth is, every dollar spent, every login, and every passively accepted flaw just fuels their complacency. If players demanded better, they’d have no choice but to change and do better.

As for why TimeQuest is shutting down, the truth is simple—I no longer have the time to maintain it at the level it deserves. Life has taken me in a different direction, and while I’ve found success elsewhere, I can’t justify keeping the server alive in an unmaintained state. TimeQuest was built from the ground up with a vision, and if it can’t live up to that vision, it’s better to end it than let it fade into something we never intended it to be.

Thank you to everyone who supported this project, believed in what we were trying to do, and stood with us in pushing for something better. I hope you go on to live a good life, filled with things that inspire you. While this project is closing, the message remains the same: Demand more. Expect more. And never settle for less.
